How to Use IPTV: Setup Guide for Every Device

Here’s how to use IPTV on any device: choose a plan, get your login on WhatsApp, install a player app and enter your details. It takes about 10 minutes. Below are the general steps plus instructions for Smart TVs, streaming sticks, Android boxes, phones, MAG boxes, M3U playlists and Xtream Codes.

What you need before you start

  • An internet connection. Allow about 10 Mbps for each HD stream, 15–25 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. If several devices will watch at once, add their needs together.
  • A compatible device. A Smart TV, streaming stick, Android TV box, phone, tablet, computer or MAG set-top box.
  • Your login. We send it on WhatsApp as soon as payment is confirmed: an Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist link or a MAG portal address.
  • About 10 minutes per device for the first setup.

Not sure which login suits your device? Tell us on WhatsApp and we’ll send the right one. For background, read M3U vs Xtream Codes vs MAG explained.

Quick start: 5 steps on any device

  1. Choose your plan and devices

Pick 1, 3, 6 or 12 months and how many devices (1 to 5) should be able to watch at the same time.

  2. Message us on WhatsApp

Tap a plan button to send a pre-filled message, tell us your devices, and we confirm your order and send secure payment options.

  3. Receive your login

As soon as payment is confirmed we send your login on WhatsApp: an Xtream Codes login, an M3U playlist link or a MAG portal address.

  4. Install a player app

Install a compatible IPTV player from your device’s app store. We recommend one that suits your device. MAG boxes need no app.

  5. Enter your details and watch

Add the login to the player, wait a minute while channels, movies and the TV guide load, then choose a channel and start watching.

How to use IPTV on a Smart TV

  1. Connect the TV to your network — an Ethernet cable is best, otherwise your router’s 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the TV’s app store and search for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U. We’ll recommend one that works well on your TV’s system.
  3. Install and open the player. If it shows a device ID or activation code, follow its on-screen steps to add your login.
  4. Choose Xtream Codes and enter the server address, username and password exactly as we sent them, or choose M3U and paste the playlist link.
  5. Wait while channels, movies and the guide load, then pick a channel.

If your TV’s store doesn’t have a suitable player, a streaming stick or Android TV box fixes it in minutes. Setting up Arabic channels on a TV? Our Arabic channels on Smart TV guide covers language and right-to-left text settings too.

How to use IPTV on a streaming stick

  1. Plug the stick into an HDMI port and its power adapter, then switch the TV to that input.
  2. Finish the stick’s setup and join your Wi-Fi.
  3. Install the player we recommend from the stick’s app store.
  4. If the player isn’t in the store, some sticks allow apps from other sources in their developer settings. Only install apps from sources you trust, and ask us if you’re unsure.
  5. Open the player, choose Xtream Codes or M3U and enter your login.

Tip: Wi-Fi is often weakest right behind a TV. A short HDMI extension lead moves the stick into clearer air and can stop buffering.

How to use IPTV on an Android TV box

  1. Connect the box to the TV by HDMI and plug it into power.
  2. Connect it to your router with Ethernet for the steadiest picture, or join your 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  3. Sign in to the box’s app store and install the recommended IPTV player.
  4. Open the player, select Add user or Add playlist, and choose Xtream Codes.
  5. Name the playlist (for example “Australia IPTV”), then enter the server address, username and password.
  6. Save and give it a minute or two to load live TV, movies, series and the guide.

How to use IPTV on a phone or tablet

  1. Install an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U from your device’s app store.
  2. Choose to add a new login or playlist.
  3. Copy your details from our WhatsApp message and paste them in — it avoids typing mistakes.
  4. Save, let the channels load and start watching.

On mobile data, keep an eye on usage: an HD stream can use roughly 1.5 to 3 GB an hour, so Wi-Fi is better for long sessions.

How to use IPTV on a MAG box

  1. Find the box’s MAC address on the sticker underneath or in the system information menu. It looks like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX.
  2. Send it to us on WhatsApp when you order. We link it to your subscription and send you a portal address.
  3. On the box, go to Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
  4. Enter a name for Portal 1 and type the Portal 1 URL exactly as we sent it.
  5. Save, then restart the portal or the box. Channels and the guide appear within a minute or two.

How to add an M3U playlist

  1. In your player, choose Add playlist and then M3U URL or Remote playlist.
  2. Paste the M3U link we sent. These links are long, so avoid typing them.
  3. Name the playlist and save it.
  4. In the player’s EPG or TV guide settings, paste the separate guide (XMLTV) link.
  5. Refresh the playlist and guide. The guide can take a few minutes the first time.

How to log in with Xtream Codes

  1. In your player, choose Login with Xtream Codes or Xtream Codes API.
  2. Enter any name for the playlist.
  3. Enter the server address exactly, including http:// and the port number if there is one — for example http://server.example:8080.
  4. Enter your username and password. Both are case-sensitive.
  5. Save. Live TV, movies, series and the guide load automatically.

Using IPTV day to day

Once you’re set up, IPTV works much like normal TV — with a few extras worth knowing:

  • The TV guide: press the guide button (or open the EPG view) to see what’s on now and next across a category. Set your device to your state’s time zone so times are correct.
  • Favourites: long-press or use the options button on a channel to add it to favourites. Each person can keep their own list on their own device.
  • Catch-up: on channels marked with a catch-up icon, scroll back in the guide and play programmes that have already aired — perfect for overseas shows that air overnight.
  • Movies and series: open the on-demand section to browse 140,000+ titles by genre, year or language, and resume where you left off.
  • Several screens at once: your plan covers the number of devices you chose. If you see a “too many connections” message, stop playback on another device or ask us about adding one.
  • Picture quality: where a channel has 4K, FHD and HD versions, choose the one that suits your screen and connection.

Troubleshooting common problems

Problem Likely cause What to do

No TV guide Guide link missing or not refreshed (M3U) Add the EPG link and refresh; allow a few minutes
Guide times wrong Device time zone or guide offset Set your state’s time zone with automatic daylight saving; adjust the offset if needed
Picture freezes Weak Wi-Fi or a busy connection Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; restart the device and router
MAG says “portal not found” URL typo or MAC not linked Re-enter the portal URL; confirm your MAC address with us

How to use IPTV: common questions

What login details will I receive?

It depends on your device: a server address, username and password for Xtream Codes; a playlist link (and TV guide link) for M3U; or a portal address linked to your box’s MAC address for MAG.

Why does my app say “invalid login”?

Usually a typo. Check for extra spaces, capital letters and the exact server address, including http:// and the port number if one was given. Copying and pasting from WhatsApp avoids most mistakes.

Why does it say “too many connections”?

More devices are trying to watch at once than your plan covers. Stop playback on one device, or message us to move to a plan with more devices.

How do I add the TV guide?

With Xtream Codes the guide loads automatically. With M3U, paste the EPG (XMLTV) link we send into your player’s guide settings and refresh. It can take a few minutes to fill the first time.

Will you help me set it up?

Yes. Tell us your device on WhatsApp and we’ll send step-by-step instructions and stay with you until it’s working. Setup help is part of our 24/7 support.
